    Question Favorite Speck flies?

    Hi Folks,

What are your favorite Speck flies? My luck has been less than great so far for Specks on the fly rod and I've tried a lot of different flies, so I'm curious what flies and fly rod methods have worked for this board's members.

    Default Flies......

This gets done in white, olive, tan, and black. Seems to work early in the season for us.

These things seem to work well when they are up and on damsels.

....and some of these usually get the call when they are minnow searching.

Usually pulling them slow, then S-L-O-W-E-R, and carefully watching the entry of the line into the water for anything different, will interest them.
We use different density lines to achieve the desired depth. Usually a "sly-line" is a good starting one. If the need for "stationary" presentation arises (cold water and brush piles are a couple ), we are not above useing a "bobber" and a floating line to do that.
