Finally got my boat out of the garage to check it on a muff. Thought I should take the cowlings off, and to my surprise, a family of mice had built a nest under the cowling. They had stripped my "Mad Bomber" cap of its fur and chewed a good bit of the silencing
foam from the cowling. They also found my water pressure hose in the way, so they chewed it into. They chewed on a red wire going to a fuse also. I was po'd! Once I vacuumed the mess and blew it out with an air hose, I was able to start the motor. It started up like a champ. Guess I will keep the old girl. Motor too!
I had flipped a Jon over for a few months and mice found a home amongst the floatation foam under the seat. Found him while we were fishing, he couldn't stand our company any more, I guess. He decided to swim for it, bad move. I was living in FL at the time, and he never made the shore.
