I was thinking of threadfin not gizzard but thats cool no doubt. Good looking bugs .. i love my shad patterns , they have caught me more 30+ inch browns on the fly rod then any other bait combined

The shad I`m targeting are American or Hickory Shad , neither threadfin or gizzard............. you tying a shad pattern that resembles a gizzard / threadfin to catch trout, right?

I guess im unfamiliar with those species we have neither here. And if your asking if my browns are catch and release then yes , absolutely yes, always. And yea for trout when the shad kill occurs or for spring time whites/wipers/stripers

Tom , the Shad he refers to run up coastal rivers and get quite large. They use Shad darts(about like Crappie jigs) to catch them and eat the roe .
