I learned a long time ago to use dark colors in dark water and bright colors in clear water. It seemed like the opposite should be true, but it isnt. I don't look for a scientific solution, I look for which live well has the most Crappie in it.

I voted Black/chartruse but a good Dark Black has all ways been the best for muddy water for me .. Read it in a magazine when I was a teen ager and has proven true thru all these many years ... light colors in muddy water tend to be absorbed while the black stands out and is not abosorbed.

I picked black/chart but that isnt always the better choice. I longline with several rods at once and there are times the fish tells me the colors they prefer for that day.:o What color jigs do you guys think would apply here (happened yesterday)...stained water, cloudy overcast sky all day? Dark colors right?!? Wrong! The fish wanted light colors such as John Deer Green, Lake Weiss Killers, Elect. chicken. You just never know until you start switching up and usually the fish will throw a few hints.

i agree with gabowman, at times i have caught alot of fish in muddy water on yellow and white and other times the darker the better.

Black/char is a good dirty water color,i hated voting for anything but my all time favorite dirty water color but your choices were very limited i'm interested in the reason.
