I saw a face fit for a radio on the channel 9 news last night taking about dead fish. My wife asked why I stopped to watch this part of the news and I said that’s some goofball I met on Crappie.com. :D Ya looked good Jake!Thumbs Up

I guess too much snow on top the ice killed some fish due to lack of oxygen.

Will this happen in bigger lakes like Smithville? Could it improve Watkins?

It's happening at several lakes. Bigger lakes like Smithville usually have some dead shad after ice-out, but they don't suffer from winter kills like smaller, shallower lakes. Winter kills are why we don't consider ponds with less than 8 feet of depth viable. Yes Keef, I definitely have a face for radio. I don't mind doing the TV spots, but you never sound like yourself. Must be the echo in my head!

There were alot of dead shad on Stockton last weekend. We had to fish several spots to find some fish and every spot had dead shad.
