It may cause the motor to pull or steer a little different.
Did some very minor damage to my skeg over the weekend and was wondering if i have a significant problem. I just tapped a gravel bar and it ground about 1/8 inches off of the middle of the skeg, however the part nearest to the prop is untouched. It looks like it is still protecting everything it needs to be. what do you guys think? does anybody run with a roughed up skeg and/or have any of you had similar problems. Thanks.

As long as its not bent, don't worry about it. You'll never know the difference.

I agree with IBNFSHN.
This only my opinion, but nothing you can say will change my mind. That makes it a FACT.

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night will keep me from crappie fishing!

been there and done that. we kissed a gravel bar and bit a a small chunk out of the skeg. Got it welded up at it looks almost like new. Wasn't that expensive either, around 100 bucks, I think.

Yes, I fish like a girl. If you tried a little harder, you could too!!
Now that you did that, Its time to start catching fish. Always hate the first scratch or stuff on a new boat.
That the reason that I started just scratching it off the bat and get it over with.

adam, the boat is now useless. Please forward the title to me, and I'll make arrangements to have the thing hauled off.
No need to thank me!
