    Default A little different

While tying flies or jigs, I occasionally think about the continual evolution of this hobby. The idea of making a change in a pattern or jig raises the hope that it may catch more or bigger fish, and I suppose that is a part of the pay off. Here’s a link to some recently tied flies and jigs. some with slight variations from standard patterns. If you have anything unusual that you have tied, I would like to see it.

Nice work, I haven`t invested a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$ in materials so many of my ties are "un conventional"

    Thanks Pat,

I like unconventional. Since I don't have any fly tying shops located in my area, I use Joann fabrics 1st, and Hobby Lobby 2nd to save as much as possible for materials. They have a nice variety of craft foam, fur, eyes, etc. One of my favorites for poppers is rigid foam board insulation with copper tubing for a cutter.

Over all, this hobby seems to be reasonably affordable, unless one gets carried away. There are a number of online retailers that are reasonable as well.
