    Default Wappapello Crappie Club Tournament

Wappapello Crappie Club held its February tournament Sunday, the 20th. Had a good turnout with 12 teams competing. All the teams had good weights and even heavier weights are expected for the March tournament naturally.

    1st place-Jines and Jines-12.81-1.99 big fish
    2nd place-Thompson and Thompson-12.80-2.03 big fish
    3rd place-Christian and Fowler-12.21-2.21 big fish

Christian and Fowler also received the $500 big crappie bonus for the heaviest two pound fish weighed in as well as $98 for having big fish of the tournament.

The next tournament is scheduled for March 20, 2011.

Wow, $500 for big crappie bonus, that could be a down payment on a new fish locator.

Its a ten fish limit. If my memory serves me correctly. The teams had figured there were 6 fish weighed in right at 2lbs.
This lake is really coming around now that the length limit has been in place.

Wasn't that about eight years ago? Sure took a long time, but I'm glad that it is. Talked to a guy the other day, two of them had a ~ 8 to 1 catch to keeper ratio, which I've seen a whole lot worse, double that and then some. The two of them caught 200+ to get 28 and had to measure most of them.

On the other hand, a two pounder out of Wapp raises eyebrows. I 've never seen one myself. It's good to have the weights, I've seen several guys holding up a 1.25 while calling it a two pounder.
