Cool Team Underdog had it's day

Paul Hicks & I had one of those dream days at the CAT Livingston Lake
    tournament this weekend.

Friday prefish started out with us doing the same thing we saw everyone else doing. Slip bobbers and minners. We caught fish but they were not going to win anything. After a while I deceided to put on a custom Pony Head with a sickle hook Mike make for us a couple of years ago. On that I put a Blk/Chart Rocky Top and started pitching it with my 10ft PA. BAM, BAM, BAM and we had it figured out.
The big females were just out a little further and wanted it moving.
Paul had been using a Wht/Chart on a regular jig with no luck at all.
We litterally had to make ourselve leave since we had the Where, What and How.

Next day, cloudy and mist, we hit the other side of the creek and found them even shallower.
We found the best fish around the white sand and they were running up to the beds
in the tall grass on shore.
I switched to my 6ft ProAngler and it was just like the old days of bass casting.

On tourney day we had our 7 keepers by 8:30am and started culling from there until 2:00pm. Paul did an excellent job of fish management. He used the balance beams on every one the rest of the day. At the weigh in we did a last check with scales for the 7 heaviest - 10.375. Good thing too, we only beat second place by 1oz.

Yeah, y'all have seen in my posts the tackle I use. Braid baby, bright orange braid all the way. 8# on my caster and 20# on my drop shoters with 10# leaders.

Moral of the story: Don't limit yourself to only one system and be flexible.
    Thumbs Up

Talking Team UnderDog standing next to the real deal.

Thanks guys, we are proud as punch with big smiles.
    :D
Maybe Luck and skill can rub off so we were all over Ronnie a week before this tourney.

Maybe touching Ronnie gave us the edge we needed at Livingston.
