    Default Spot Lights

Just wondering if anybody uses this light and how they like it. It looks convenient and easy to use. Thanks.

Just purchased one of these. When I hooked it up it would not work. Problem was the wires going up front were not heavy enough to carry the voltage. I already had a plug up front to run accesories with heavy wire. I still use the base but drilled a hole in the side of the stem adding a pigtail with plug. Light works fine. Have not had it on the water yet but is very bright. I think it mentions you may have to change the wiring to make it work in the instructions but I didn't want to rewire all this when I had an accesorie plug installed.

    Way out of my budget.
I bought a rechargeable 1,000,000 candle power light that plugs into my accessory outlet.

A word of caution. You need wiring, and switches that can handle the power of accessory lights. I highly recommend the use of a relay. The following article will help you understand why. Yes, its written for autos, however the same electrical problems will exist on your boat, and the same solutions will be needed.

They say you have to change your breaker to about a 7 amp, and a least 14 G wire. One guy said he had to cut 4" of the pipe because the 12" couldn't handle the weight of the light, did you have any trouble with that? I would like to keep the length because of the trolling motor.
