    Default Vacation ideas in VA/WV/TN/NC???

I have an anniversary coming up in a couple months and we are looking for somehwere nice to go. We like the Tennessee mountains or something similar. There doesn't have to be fishing, just a cabin or B&B type getaway with plenty to do for a week or so. Any suggestions? We are in Virginia Beach but can travel several hours. Preferably under 5 or 6 hours but can go even farther.

Go to the Smokies! I just got back from out 20th anniversary trip! If you go make sure you visit the Ripleys Aquarium in Gatlinburg. It was AWESOME! I also like the wildlife at Cades Cove but it has got a little crowded the last few times I have been. There is also a Bass Pro close by for her to get you something for your anniversary! Lol

Definitely considering the Smokies. We are from Arkansas and stationed here in VA and we always love that part of the drive home.

Here are a couple of suggestions:

Claytor Lake State Park, George Washington National Forest

Not quite in the Smokies, but, beautiful country out that way!

The Biltmore House in Ashville is a must.....a little pricy but worth every penny.....I have been 3 times.....built between 1890 and 1895......tour the winery and do a wine tasting.....this castle has some of T. Edisons first electric lights.....a walk in brine chilled cooler....indoor pool and bowling alley.....simple awesome....

I would suggest the Outer Banks but seeing as how you are in Va Beach that might not be your thing.

The Blue Ridge parkway is nice.
