has any one seen these at BPS and are they worth 10.00 per can and do they work good i was thinking about buying some but didnt know if the 10.00 would be worth it ?

I'd use them as back up, but I don't think there's any substitute for fresh, live bait.

I have used them before and they work well. Most bites for my bluegill fishing they hit it as soon as it hits the water it seems. Much longer than that and the cricket will drown anyway.

Are those at Bass Pro freeze dried? Or how are they fixed?

I can get 1000 live for $12.00. Can't use that many before they start turning their heels up. Need to do a little research to see how preserve them and make my own.

I used to keep my unused crickets alive for days with water and corn meal, but now I just freeze them, they work just fine once they thaw enough to put on a hook. Just keep them in a cooler with your drinks till ready to use.

Tried the canned crickets when I take grand kids fishin, our bluegills do not like them period-caught fish on plastics, wax worms, and nite crawlers pieces- not one on those dam can crickets, of course tried them the next week also along with canned wax worms nothing nada. Later that week at local pond with 2 kids catching small gills on worms & corn. Dumped my other can of crickets on top of bout 12 baby gills swiming in 2 feet of water, gills came to top of water took one look & all swam away. no more canned crap for me.

So much for Roland Martin and his dried cricket promo. His are probably freeze dried. I plan to try just freezing a few as previously suggested and see what happens.
