    Default Fishing assist device

As some of you may recall, I had a post on here a few weeks back about asking for ideas for a class project. I already had this idea in mind, and other people mentioned the same idea when I asked for ideas. So I chose to go with it. In one of my college Occupational Therapy Assistant classes we were asked to create some kind of assist device that would help a patient be more independent in an area of occupation that was affected by certain medical conditions. The condition I chose was CVA or stroke. In our demonstration we have to cover the cost and a few other things related to the device. I constructed the device from the idea of pvc rod holders that someone on here had made for their boat. I am no actor and I was nervous in making the video, so it is far from the best. Here is a link to the video and I would like your thoughts on if you think it turned out ok. You can tell I had a few issues with it since I could only mainly use one hand, but it served the purpose pretty well. This device can actually be used for someone who is healthy and is just still fishing from a chair.

Very cool, but the big question is.......did you get an A on your project? You should have.

Good work. My brother could have used one of those before he passed. Ingenious.

Best idea that I've ever seen on CDC and for great reason. Truly admirable. You get an A++ in my eyes and I hope a lot of people take the time to look at the video as this is what fishing, to me, is all about. I get a sense of peace from fishing, but moreso when I see others get that same peace and I believe your idea would give someone who doesn't experience that happiness very often, a much better chance.

    Great job,
    Adam
