    Default GPS Guru advice

Does anybody know if you can transfer waypoints from a hand held gps to a Lowrance hds unit. If so what models offer this and is it practical. My thoughts are i can walk the banks and store waypoints on handheld while water is low then transfer to Lowrance hds when water rises. Is this possible???

    Thanks

I do not own one at this time but am thinking about buying a unit to at least give me something to do until ice melts. I have boat shined, lines changed, batteries charged, condos made, hunting clothes put away and every thing else i can piddle with is done. Dang come on spring...

What do you guys recommend for this purpose and would it be practical. Should i just wait and use structure scan to find them and mark them on hds

Simple Garmin. Etrex works fine. Make sure it has a communications port so to get your waypoints at a later date.
