Went out yesterday around 3:00pm to 6:00pm. The water was a little slushy in some parts but water temps was holding around 39.9 degrees. Started fishing deeper water for about 45min but could not buy a bite. I moved to shallow water about 8' to 6', first cast, and first fish. The depth stunned me, and then to top it off, I was catching fish only 3' deep. The water was muddy and had warmed up with sunshine for last couple of days is my only suggestion why these fish where only 3' deep. This is to show you do not have to fish stature to catch crappie. It will not be much longer and they will really be on. Do not be caught on the couch when the first big bite hits. It will be when most least expect it.
Good fish’n!!
