I prefer a standard 1/16 ballhead with a #4 red sickle,i would want it to have plenty of flash because the bite is more of a reaction than anything and i think flash would put a few more fish in the boat at the end of the day.
What weight head do you use most often? Which head weight shoots best? Bigger hooks or smaller hooks? Got a new dock shooting series coming out this spring, would love to hear some feedback!
Also, if you were designing one, what would you want it to have?

1/16 standard round lead head with a #4 sickle. If they don't hit that then go to a 1/32 for slower falling presentation.
An ungrateful man is like hog under a tree eating acorns, but never looking up to see where they come from!
#4 sickle on a 1/32 or 1/16. The walleye head has my interest cuz it's flatter on the sides and will skip better with the plastics. Haven't seen those in 1/32 but the 1/16 is worth a try.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
I think 1/32 & 1/24 & 1/16oz heads are probably the most often used.
For me ... it's mostly a 1/16oz ballhead ... weedless (Y guard) ... #2 Aberdeen hook ... solid body plastic (1.5 - 2 inches)
Best weight for shooting, depends on the outfit & line you're shooting with & the distance you need to get back in under a dock. I generally use a 1/16oz weight ... and with a good shot, can shoot/skip it about 30ft (from rod tip). That's plenty far enough for the docks I shoot.
If I were designing one, I would want it to have just what the one I'm using has :p .... come to think of it, I did "design" that jighead (I ordered it custom made from Grousefly, so that makes me the "designer" :D )
... cp
i generally shoot 132oz and1 16 oz jigheads aint nothing like pulling it back and watching it skip back in under a dock and watching that line flicker there he is
fishing from the couch in front of the tv doesnt count
1/32 # 6 sickle hand tied 90% of the time, 1/32 wif plastic if I need to skip it way back there
