Default Bass Pro finally going all out

Ever notice how crappie lures are included in the panfish section in fishing catologs?
This year's Bass Pro's Angler cat. has quite a few pages designated for crappie fishing, containing lures, rods and reels in a special section. You can tell when a species is becoming more popular when companies like Yamamoto and others start to copy classic crappie baits like the Bass Assassin grub.

The reels are inexpensive and some good companies like Pfleuger are selling small, light spincast and spinning reels right next light action rods.

It's nice to finally see that bass fishing isn't the only species emphasized. Too much bass lure duplication and nothing really new.

I not trying to start a war, but why would you want to use bass pro, or cablea's for crappie fishing. My reason for that is there are several good local dealers that will sell for same or better price and there service it going to be better cause they need our business. NOw that said I love cablea's but only use bass pro if I can't find it anywhere else. The large chain dealerships have there place but for crappie fishing I look hard at the local guys before even going to walmart's.

    my 2 cents

Monk, can you still get me the 14' WM Tight Line Specials? I need a couple more. You don't show them on your website.

I can vouch for that! I got some great deals and even better service last year when I ordered rod holders and a bunch of other stuff from Monk's. I also buy a lot of my bait off of CrappiePro.com. They also have outstanding service that no national store can compare with.

There was a time that I bought all my stuff from BPS and Cabelas. But lately, I've noticed that the price of their goods is going up at a pretty quick rate. It used to be that they were maybe a few cents higher than other places, now they're several dollars or more than a lot of other places.

Bass Pro is ok but they do not always have the best prices.....I like to shop around most times can find a better price. Saved $100 on my new DSI by going with a smaller company.
