Have you checked iBoats or West Marine?
I'm still debating on whether I want to sink 2 more bases in my front deck or get some type of add-a-seat deal.
Who's got a line on cheap bases? Preferably ones with a bronze bushing and threaded.
I'm cheap and trying to do a cost comparison between the two options. :D
Everybody wants retail or above on ebay. I can get prices like that from the local mega mart or marina.

Grizzly is the cheapest place that I've seen them so far but they don't have the threaded ones.
West Marine and i-boats are both over msrp.

I've got too many things I want to spend that moldy money on..
the wife wants hardwood floors, we need some windows replaced, I'm wanting to put a leveling kit and wheels/tires on the truck.. I may have to hit somebody up for some of their moldy money before long. :D
I'm still debating on the seat mounts. Looks like I would have to core a large hole for the base right through the vertical sides of a couple of floor supports under my front deck. I'm not sure how much that would weaken it, if any after bolting on the plate.
When I decided to put the extra two side-by-side bases on my boat, I bought a sheet of 3/4" marine plywood, cut it to the deck shape, and installed it so I could spread the load across a larger area of the bow. It can be a pain matching carpet in my case or camo in yours but it really took the flex out of the floor.
You would be surprised how close together two can fish up front. I've always tried to give more room between the seats and always ended up crowding the sides of the boat rather than the area between the seats. As long as the seats have some room to swivel, I wouldn't worry about them being so close together. Better being close than having one's wide rear end hanging over the sides(talking from my personal experience of course LOL).

That's the thing, my bow storage door is pretty large and keeps me from mounting bases anywhere but close to the sides of the boat. I could use a 4x8 base and only cut through one side of the support or a 6x8 and cut through both sides. It's not looking real good for the dual base option at the moment.
Wilbur.. you are the man!
Thank you, sir. I see several goodies on there that I need.
