    Default What's everybody reading?

Tom's post got me to wondering, what's on your list of books to read right now? Paul got me a Nook for Christmas and I'm reading like crazy, especially since he's working so many hours and we can't go fishing. I just finished Under the Dome (Stephen King). I still like his old stuff better. I'm really tired of James Patterson and I think I've read every Patricia Cornwell and John Grisham book written. I also read Vince Flynn, David Baldacci, Dan Brown . . . . looking for something new. Any ideas? I've got one book on deck, Decision Points, after that I need fresh material.

    right now :

The dragon reborn by robert Jordan (3rd book in the Wheel of Time series)
The science of God by John Lennox
Name of the Wind by patrick rothfuss

do you like sci-fi or fantasy?

if you like fantasy or even if you don't, one of the greatest book series i've ever read is the Song of Ice and Fire. George RR Martin. the first book is a Game of Thrones.

Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods. He sure gets one to thinking.

I like John Sandford's "Prey" novels. Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" novels, and James Lee Burke's " Dave Robicheaux". Each series has over a dozen stories with these characters and they are very entertaining. I have read them all, should keep you busy for a while.

My favorite fiction author is Michael Crichton. He's the guy who wrote Jurassic Park and created the TV show, ER. His books redefine "page turner". There's nobody else like him, IMO.

Here are a few of my favorites:

    Jurassic Park
    The Lost World
    The Andromeda Strain
    Congo

If you like Dan Brown and the whole Templar thing, check out Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco. It's a much better book by a much better writer. I've heard it said that Foucault's Pendulum was the book Dan Brown wished he had written. If you like that one, check out The Name of the Rose, also by U. Eco.

I've read all of those and they were all good. Have you read Pirate Latitudes? After his death, they found a complete manuscript on his computer. Not his best, but I did enjoy the read.
