    Default How far south

do I need to go to find open water to catch up on some fishing? Any thing closer than
Table Rock around Shell Knob. I have access to cheap lodging there but more miles to
    travel.
Beagle Man is this your area?
Any way thanks for any info everyone! Ben

From the info. I got yesterday, its froze in southern IL (Kinkaid Lake). Hadn't heard anything about Wappappello or Reelfoot. Saw a couple of pics from the Miss. site that showed Grenada was froze over. I doubt that happens very often. Would have been a great day to fish, I had 53 degrees and very little wind.

No ice on Table Rock. Have seen several boats go by today.

I live across from Mill Creek Park and boats have been launching there today. Not much of any snow left here. Has been up in the 50's today

yep it is in my area, but the crappie catching as of today sucks on my end of tablerock, flat creek/james river, a few crappie being caught on white river arm and the kings river arm. I think truman is mostly open, or LOZ is probably open or at least a few ramps open, lots of dock fishing up on LOZ I understand, If you look hard enough you will find open water, My pond is froze over or you could fish it, lots of gills and crappie in it

Stockton is open from the dam to State Park. You can launch at State Park, Crab Tree, Orleans Trail, and Stock City Ramp. No ice or snow on the road in or ramps.

Went to a neighborhood gathering tonight and talked with a couple old boys there. One puts trees under his dock and says he can catch crappie all year. His dock is in the middle section of Table Rock. I believe that if I get some attractors out there I may do well. If you build it they will come.
