I didn't mention fluorocarbon cause most people use it for leaders. You spool up with it?

Use mono mostly for Crappie fishing. ( Wally Marshal - USA ) have tried them all and found it to work best for me. Braid spooled on some of bass reels, love it for certain types of fishing. Did not like it for crappie, found smaller diameters to be not very abrasian restint. Hated the wind knots around tip of rod when jigging. I tie up my own Capps and coleman riggs using florocarbon. Don't know that it makes a difference that's just what i use.

Good info here smooth. I have 14 saltwater rods of various types all have brade. I use power pro and have found the newer line does not bleed like the line they first came out with. I use the green and the yellow the red can leave you with one heck of a mess. Been kicking the idea around about using brade for crappie. I use 4 to 6 lb test trilene xl clear blue florescent it just my preference it doesn't seam to be MAD like all those other lines i have used (numerous ones). What make and test brade do you use? Cant seem to open up your web site.

I use braid in all my rods. It's great on my bass/salt rigs. I use power pro 30#. it's great. I have also used strength superbraid, it worked well for me. I am trying 8lb power pro on my crappie rigs. It is very difficult. Works well with just a jig. When I get a cork setup it takes alot of persistence to keep the wind knots out. Not sure if it is worth the trouble. But I sure like not breaking off and having to retie after every stump or branch.
