We have a neighbor that ran an add for all the free cane you can cut and haul...I'm gonna try some and see how it does.
"Never Fry Bacon Naked"
I use cane or pvc pipe down here in La. It is just easier for me to handle by myself and seems to last pretty well.
We use a variety of things here in N. Tex.
Mr. Paty has some great condos made with plastic buckets and others with Bamboo mats.
I have used Willow or whatevers handy the most.
My new partner, Paul, has come up with his "Boo Balls" that work really well.
I did a few with a combo of Hickory/cedar and some fake house plants that are still producing large fish.
Build it and they will come.
that is alright. what are the booballs made of and how.also how do you keep them on the bottom?
My buddy Paul has lots of Boo in his back yard.
The little ones work best when put out with more than one meshed.
We put 2 concrete blocks on them or suspend them on underwater tree limbs.
The bigguns are 10ft dia with 1" Boo sticks.
We use 2 bigger blocks each on them. We tried just one 1st and it floated like a bottle on a jug line.
He wires them together, ties a rope in the middle then sprays a can of "Great Stuff" foam.
Here works OK , but I pefer pallet stake beds. The brush is real good too. My favorite is Persimmon Tress as they have few limbs and hold better fish than thick brushy things.
I wire the Persimmons togather and place on top of a concrete block. Wire on your block and toss in. The Persimmon trees will sink if green. The block is to hold up a little and keep trees in plce.
I perfer pallet stakebeds over trees. They are cheap no need to cut live trees . Use discarded hardwood pallets add a few up right stakes , and rocks. They don't show up well , can be built to suit height (I perfer 2' stakes about 1''x2'') Sure easy to fish over and big fish like the room. Never build anything or use brush with less than 8'' spacing. Too tight of cover means more dinks and less slabs in my opinion.
