I fish for 6 hours every Saterday night. I have no skill and no depth finder. I drive out to the middle of the lake and fish with a submersible light. I use dead shad for bait exclusively. Every trip I catch 8-15 fish all between 10 and 12 inches.

In your state would this be considered

I am asking because I'd like to move away from Fl and want to know what else is out there.

Would not be considered keepers in Mississippi. Fish here have to be over 12" to keep.

Ohio is cold and snowy right now...most of the lakes are frozen...so unless you ice fish, you won't be doing the saturday night deals here

if you can find something to do on Saturday night from Thanksgiving to March (?) other than go fishin', come on up, don't blame you for wanting to move away from FL. Didn't like it when I lived there either (no offense to board members in FL) JMO. I don't even try to go fishin' from Thanksgiving till March, with the holidays and cold weather, not worth the effort IMO. Guess it's a sign of getting older, but I'll wait until it gets warmer to go fishin'.

I live in Ill but prefer fishing in Alabama, Tennesee and Kentucky. I plan to move to one of those states when I retire. I have been told by my fishing buddy in Ky.
that a yankee comes down to visit but a D*** YANKEE comes south and stays, I guess my classification wil grt changed when that time comes.

lowe rider. mt. home, ark is populated with people from ill. the d*** yankees took over that town. half of them you still can't understand what they are saying when they talk. then some have begun to learn how to talk.
