This is from their facebook page.

Travis Bunting and Dirk Schlueter did it again breaking the 8 pound mark on the final Super Slab Series event of the season. They also hit a home home with a 1.71 big crappie. The guys did it today on trick darter jerk baits....Thanks again for everyone who braved the cold today.

Great weights. Finally the weights that everyone was expecting for the tournaments. 1.71 is a pig. Wonder if the were trolling them or fishing them around dock openings?

I would say they were fishing them around docks i have some reports that the jerk bait bite is on strong.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

They was throwing them, Hueste and myself ended up second with 6.75 shooting docks. 3rd place was under 6 pounds and it went down from there, 10 boats total. And we held on to win the points race this year, ended up with a nice graph and vhf radio. Jamie has said there probably be another winter series next year.
