Fishing Smithville

Fishing Smithville yesterday was tough. Two nice keepers and three shorts right off the bat, after that not a fish. Just put them all back to catch another day. As you all probably already know the ice kept us from getting to some of our favorite spots. Always nice to get out of the house and give the better half a break. When I get cabin fever I get cranky. Like to hear a report from those others we saw on the lake.

is was tough on stockton yesterday also modandylyon. must have been a good for the fish day, bad for the fisherman day, better luck next time.but like you said it gives the misses a day away from us.

modandylyon, can you tell us a little more about where the ice was? Might shoot for the short window Friday before the bottom drops out. Todays winds and temps might just open it up a bit.

Ice was up in shady cove north of w bridge. We did fish Sail boat cove a bit. Ice all around w ramp and the bridge, so couldn't fish the piers. I am guessing after all that wind yesterday that the lake will be open most of those places today, but don't think the weather is going to help any. We put in at camp branch. If you go let us know how you do.

caught nice fish all week,yesterday in the wind was the best ,today 1 keeper, handful of little ones.
