    Default Crappie taste

I was just wondering if its just me or does anyone else agree. In the winters months it seems the taste of crappie or any fresh fish has a little better taste in these colds months rather than the hotter months.

I think crappie fillets are great any time of year! I really like to cook and eat them freshly caught instead of out of the freezer.

Greg, I agree with you on that. At least down here in the south. I've long noticed how much better cold water fish taste, at least to me.---Pooch

I not only think they taste better out of colder water, but I think the meat is firmer. Maybe it is just my imagination ????

    Default fresh crappie

I have to agree about fresh fish being great tasting.
For years I could not eat fish I caught the same day. Till last summer and finally did it. The fish was 100% better. I know it was a mental thing with me cleaning them and all but once I got over it I will never go back to waiting to eat them.
