Default My first trip to Kerr

I made my first trip to Kerr today checking out Rudds creek and the upper end of Butchers creek. I saw shad breaking the surface and shad balls on my depth finder. I did not see any good underwater structure to check out. I also saw some fish arches 3 feet off the bottom in 26 feet of water under the Rt 58 bridge in Rudds. Made it as far south as Rocky Branch in Butchers creek. I plan to try around the bridges on my next trip.

I only managed one fish. A 14", 1 pound 4 ounce white bass. It was the first white bass I ever caught.

Keith, give Buffalo Creek a try on one of your trips. We go over there for a week every March and although we try other places, we have done better in Buffalo. Of course that could be completely different this time of the year. Last March we caught several white bass, some of them over 2 lb. Excellent eating!
