    Depends on Temp, and oxygen supply. I keep mine in a 50 gallon plastic cattle watering trough. Holds 5 t/ 7 lbs very well in the winter but I drop it back to 3 lbs at a time during the summer. You'll have to change your water more in the summer also. I have a pump that I bought at a bait dealer that keeps air circulating constantly.
