Donno about Lake Charles, but Rouse's Supermarket in Youngsville (South of Lafayette a bit) has contract shrimpers working for it - really fresh and really good prices (Say, 16/20 for $5 a pound or a bit less). It will take you between 1 1/2 and 2 hours one way to get there - they are on LA 92 between Youngsville and Milton (337-362-2814).
If you have the time and the inclination, it might be worth the effort.
    Bon chance.

I need to find some place close to Lake Charles because of the hours I am working! Right now I have been buying my shrimp at Kroger! Heck I can do that at home!
