    Default Floatation device...

Thinking about getting one...have heard that they may inflate if water gets on them. Also, will they function properly if it gets below freezing? Bass pro has many to chose from, is it a "you get what you pay for" thng? Don't mind getting the mustang if I knew it provided the best solution...just need some honest advise from experience...

The ones that say "Hydrostatic Activation" are best for avoiding accidental inflation. They actually have to be underwater to inflate.

They are also the most expensive.

Remember, they don't count as a PFD for legal requirements unless you are wearing them.

I have the "Hydrostatic Activation" Mustang brand. I wear it all day long and it is very confortable.
I am a big guy and it fits well and you don't really notice you have it on after the first couple of times using it..
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!

I have the Stearns Manual Inflata-belt and love them. Fit just like a belt and I forget I am even wearing it.

Not from rain. But if you put them back in the storage box damp........thats another story. The moisture eventually dissovled the tablet and it went off. That was on stearns model. I like my belt pack best, but its manual so you have to be conscious to activate.
