Default Line Counter Reels Spider Rigging

Was kicking around the idea of replacing some ailing spider rigging reels with some small line counter reels. I presently have some inexpensive bait casters on, but after four seasons of hard use, they are starting to give up the ghost.

I just think that it will be awfully useful to be able to put my bait right where I want it to without having to constantly guess my depth. I could also use these on my crank pullin' rods.

    What do you think?

Will probably be the best investment you make all year. I use mine to longline troll on the big lake. Up here we're only allowed 2 rods so spider rigging is not an option. Being able to place your bait/jig right back at the same depth, quickly, without guesstimating, is very beneficial to catching lots of slabs fast. Okuma magda 20's would be a good choice. Check em out.

Works good, especially when fishing really deep.

I use the Okuma MA20DX reels. I started with the 15DX but like the 20's better.

I use a bobber stop to make sure I keep the same depth...just keep the stop at water level...
