    Default Suggestions for reels

Needing to put some reels on my rods for spider rigging. I have the BnM Slow Troller 10'. Currently have just the small line keeper reels (fly type - $4.99) and wanting to upgrade a little. What are some of your opinions on the underspin spincast reels vs. the ultralight spinning? I use 8# Ande line on these rods. Thanks.

My partner uses shimano 1000 and 1500 sppining reels. I think that they are the Sedonas and Saharas. On my long rods I use a shimano Sedona and my girlfriend bought me a Quantum PTI Kenetic. They runs about $70 each but I guarantee that the drag will never let you down. Hook a 8# channel cat last year on it and the drag worked like a charm. Hope this helps.

    Hooked -

If you are fishing rather shallow (just pick the fish up without reeling him in), you can use a bargain basement ultralight spinning reel. This is how I typically fish, so I use old ultralight Shimano reels. They have never failed me after 16 years of use.
