    Default Battery advice

I have bought two new batteries from Napa in the past year for my trolling motor. Needless to say they won't hold charge and I needed them yesterday. What is a good brand of battery that will last and not be giving me trouble. Keep it under $200. Thanks.

I have been using Duralast from Autozone. Once they go through 3 seasons, I replace them. I've never had them make it through 4 years. I think they hold up pretty good.
I had a set of the "high dollar" ones that look like a six pack. (I forget the name) The were the blue ones. They didn't hold up any better or any longer.

I do keep my batteries charged between trips.

I keep mine charged as well. Don't know what is going on but can't be dealing with dead batteries.

I've had good luck with the Walmart batteries. Always put them on the charger as soon as I get home. I've always wanted to try the Blue Optima, but couldn't justify spending the money. Maybe someday.

Lotsa brands, most made by 2 companies with stickers being the only difference. So, just look for the best warranty and try to buy them as recently made as possible, they're dated on top. Get them as big as your boat will hold group 31's if possible. Lastly, charge as soon as possible after use and tender them weekly if possible. If you can find out when the battery companies contract runs out on a particular brand it'll help also I've found. There gen. 5 yr contracts and if you buy in early you should have better luck for some reason.
