Default Anyone in the NY area do any ice fishing?

Use to ice fish with my Dad at Taconic State Park. Caught lots of Crappie and gills (along with some pickerel). Has anyone done any ice fishing in NY? If so where?

trust me, I don't walk on the ice til I see one of the following... a) snowmobile b) car c) atv or d) All of the above!!! ... :D

I recall my first time ice fishing with my Dad. He didn't have a power auger at the time, so yours truly ran around boring holes for him. Ice had to be 10"+ thick! Talk about a workout!!! I was too happy when we purchased a power auger. I ran around popping holes everywhere... LOL after a while the ice looked like a golf course invaded by gophers! :D Don't anticipate going til January....

Yup that sounds right from other forums I've been on... Have a friend going to go and check Oneida now. How thick it is is another story... Might get out tomorrow to the pond but we'll see if this pans out and if so will post pics..
