    Question Dressing in layers

    I need some feedback::

    Going fishing tomorrow and it is going to be cold..I tried this today>

    First I put on my UA skin tight cold gear pullover...Then an UA sweatshirt,,,Then a Cabelas Guidewear jacket w/o insulation..

    I felt pretty warm except my back was cool....My Cabelas Guidewear jacket seems to be transferring cold to the inside...

    What is the best way to layer and not be restricted like the Michelin Man..

    I need help tonight...:D

    I'll need to see a pic of you in the skin tight pullover to properly evaluate the situation.

    Hey Don, Ya need bib overalls that cover you midway up the back! I start off with polypropylene long jons. They keep the moisture off your skin. Then I have wool pants, and a wool sweater. After that I have wool bib oberalls, and a wool jacket. I've had a lot of those synthetic garments, but you just can't beat real wool.

    Layers yes...tight NO. I work in a freezer all day, I wear a long sleeve Tshirt, then 1 size larger a thermal long sleeve shirt, then again 1 size larger a holifill (sp) long sleeve shirt, and yet again 1 size larger a short sleeve polo type shirt. . . this keep my body fairly comfortable for quite a long time - I'm in a -5 degree freezer for up to 2 hours at a time.

    Wearing a hat will conserve 10 degrees of body heat from escaping, I generally wear a pair of wool gloves to wick off water from my hands, with a pair of light weight knit gloves over them...of course if the fishing is HOT, the gloves go away real fast, and I just tough it out as long as I can.
    Roaming the banks of the Kankakee River and anywhere else fish might lurk.
