All I fish is Truman and it is muddy so I fish 30 lb braid until it gets cold enough that it freezes to the eyes to bad then switch to 6 lb Hi-vis Stren mono.
I fish Stockton and like to use 2lb ultragreen maxima during the winter. I know it seems light, but with the right rod tip and drag I don't have any trouble breaking off. I have been surprised at how strong it is. I shouldnt be I guess as I'm a huge fan of 4lb max and fish it the rest of the time. I'm curious to know if any of you go ultra light during the winter on clear lakes?
Fish like your hungry!

I fish 2lb hi-vis Power Pro year round on Stockton, except when it is below freezing and then I use 6lb Mr. Crappie. Just can't beat the braid for feel when fishing over 15 feet deep. I don't lose very many jigs but do move some brush around once in a while.
