    Will there be ice on the lake this weekend? Didn't know how quick this lake gets ice on...

    NO! If it gets ice... its all most always late Jan. or early Feb. and gone by the end of Feb. most years no ice at all at the lower end with little to no ice at the north end...

    ive ice fished there the last 3 years running Larry, and dont you dare jinks that for me.

    last year & maybe 2008... you have open water in 07 lower end i fished it mid Jan.

    3 years running, this will (and it WILL) make 4.
    Ive fished on 12" of ice in templeton creek, and garr hill to main lake was open water.

    main lake was open water... that the part i like to fish in the winter... i have put in at the dam and have to shout down quick at garr hill do to ice...

    yeah, ive seen a few hotrods break some ice they didnt really want to!LOL The causeway is normally the dividing line for good ice(or bad ice for you).
    Either way, you should have a good while before you need worry about it,and i will keep you informed. Normally icy/snowy ramps are more of a problem than ice for boaters here anyway.

    the ramps at eastfork are alot smaller and not so bad if we get snow and ice...
    we use the camper ramp its the best one in the winter... this year it is closed...
    the next best one is off sr.133... that 10 more miles but alot safer...
    the dam ramp and tate ramps have long & tall hills...
