    Default Planning on Truman 12/1 & 12/2

With and if the current winds holds as forcasted for those days Slabbyjoe and I are planning on checking Truman out. If you see a red 16 foot tiller steer Lund with 60 horse Mercury out there stop and say hi. We will be going out of Bucksaw and any suggestions as to proceeding up the Grand or down would be welcome along with any other general suggestions as to what features we should be looking for as to where the crappie might be relating to.

    Thanks Lee

Fish are everywhere right now. We have been going UP and limiting out in short time. Fish the flats that contain hardwoods and hedge trees in 10 - 16 fow. Fish 8 - 10 feet down. Black/chartreuse has been the best producer. Good luck.

I been with Bob and he is telling it like it is. lots of trees up on TRUMAN lots of trees, and I think everyone holds a crappie or two.

I still think about them two days Bob, thanks again, and jim and speck, and the nice lady from bucksaw lodge, and the crappie who gave to me there all so I can stay fat and sassy all winter.

We fished Truman from around 8:30 am to 3:30 pm ending up with 25 in the box. Fish were caught in Jackson Branch and Pretty Bob in 8 fow to 18 fow fishing 10 ft down. Fish were caught by stickups and on the swing between and around trees. Only saw one other boat on the water today. They were coming down the Grand above the bridge around noon. They probably had their limits and were heading home.
Tomorrow we'll probably explore Cedar Creek.

Go up another 1/2 to 3/4 mile past Pretty Bob and give Hay creek a try. It has been really been doing well the last few months. Lots of hedge trees on the north side or right side and hardwoods on the left south side. I would start on the right and not be afraid of fishing all the hedge from the front of the creek all the Way to the back on the right or north side. Should be fish in Cedar creek also but not the size you will want. ANother spot would be the flat on each side of the channel just past the mouth of Jackson. SO along the campground side and along the Jackson branch side but up river. Lots of cedar trees on both sides through there.

That was us, LBM. You are fishing the right stuff. Be sure you fish the open water between trees too. We are catching a lot of fish away from the trees.

I enjoyed the heck out of it, Michael. Let's do it again.

Our second day we ended up with 23 in the box. We spent most of our time up at Hay Creek and quickly checked Pretty Bob and the mouth of Jackson Branch on the way back out. Not the size we were hoping for from Truman but still happy with some thumps and our day on the water plus gaining some more confidence in learning and running the channels (at least from Bucksaw up a ways). We wouldn't have had the luck we did have with out the input from the folks on CDC and I'm looking forwards to getting more experience down there.
