Crappie Slime

I saw some guys rubbing there jig in the slime on each side of the crappie every time they caught one, so I asked them why they did it. They said they catch more fish by doing it. Well it made enough sense to me so I've been doing it ever since and it seems I catch them more frequently when I do this. I fished with a friend with the same jigs, only I had hime slime the jig and I did not. He did catch more than I did. Has anyone else ever heard of doing this? Just curious.

How do ya slime the jig before you catch the first one? Kinda like the chicken and egg thing. I bet theres nothin to it.
