Default Big weather change in midwest

Freezing night time temps in Wisconsin is moving south to Illinois by turkey day. The true sign of winter started yesterday with the sighting of one flock of Sandhill cranes heading south. Today a total of Nine flocks were sighted in less that a hour all headed south. Bout time to break out the long-johns:D

I always find it funny that in Ne the Sandhill Crane is on the endangered spiecies and can't be hunted. Down south they have a season for hunting them. EB

High of 64 yesterday to a high 34 today. We had sleet/freeziing rain mid morning today. What amazes me the most is how people forget to drive in 3 months.

Last night in Vermont where I live it was about 18 degrees and a 20 mph wind. Sometime after midnight we're supposed to get part of the storm from the midwest with rain/sleet/freezing rain/wet snow and highs about 25 degrees. Just glad the daughter, son in law and grand daughter got here before it hit.

Warm regards to all, hope you are all warm, safe and in good company, enjoying a hot meal and perhaps a toddie hot (or cold, take your pick!), this earlyish atmospheric "Siberian Express" may have stressful effects upon the local area`s bulging shad population, with probabily large #s of individuals unable to prevent an often unavoidable tragic loss of life....if the weather even briefly relents the predatores in most bodies have probably been biologically "turned on" by a sudden spike of tannic acid, from lagre #s of various species of oak trees. Apparently the 2 together CAN produce some of the larger fish of many types, all cramming as many not long for this life shad; with a constant wind, they CAN be briefly SPECTACULAR, but you are casting into the wind of course...am personally risk a box full of offerings off #15A soonest...good luck, gentlemen and women, bring them...(OK, some) of them back ALIVE!!

Snow on the ground here this morning. I don't believe it will last long, but I'll be fishing Sunday either way.
