    Question Crappie size for reproduction

Lately many of the crappie I have caught have been developing eggs. Since I don't keep any under 10", I was wondering if the smaller "throwbacks" are also with eggs. Thinking that maybe I should up my minimum size to help the future population or if it makes that much difference. Any thoughts?

It doesn't make any difference how many you keep or what size you keep. Yes, they all have eggs in them. EB

The larger the female is the more eggs she will have, therefore I prefer to release the large females and keep the smaller ones to eat. During the spawn I try not to keep any because the males work the nest and defend the young. Just my opinion.

Taking Crappie during the spawn won't make any difference to the population. UNLESS it is a small pond. EB
