    Default Truman in the wind

Well, we hadn't been on the water for over a month so we decided to get out today. Was going to LOZ but am having problems with the fish finder so we ended up running up to Truman and fishing the trees. Man oh man was it windy, the forescat was for winds of 20 MPH, I am not sure what it was but it sure felt more than 20. Bout the only place we found out of the wind somewhat was up from Bucksaw along the south side of the channel before it makes a hard swing left towards the U bridge, the trees kinda blocked the wind a little bit. The bite was still very good, we only fished about 150 yards of trees but it was enough to catch several crappie. Kept a real nice limit. Hedges were the ticket for us today, seems like each tree had a little honey hole that held several fish; you had to dip into every hole to find it but it seemed that they were there somewhere. One little pocket on one of the trees held prolly 10 or 12 fish, we haven't caught that many from a single tree all year. We only had a couple of hours to fish but we figured what the keck, it is supposed to cool down this week so we wanted to try it. Wind and all it was sure fun to catch a few again.

Surprise surprise, black over chatreuse was the only thing we caught em on (honestly, it was the only thing we fished), fishing in 10-20 fow, almost all of them were caught 8-12 feet deep. And they were hammering it, no taps today they were all big time thumps.

    Sorry no pics.

Good report and nice catch, especially in all that wind. Congrats.

Way to go Grb, any fish caught today was a good effort. Them hedge can be feast or famine.

Very familiar story these days but still good to hear. Congrats on a good morning.

Great job, catching fish in that wind separates the men from the boys.

Thanks all, it was fun. Sure wish we would have had a whole day, I love it when they pound the bait as hard as they were.

    Good fishing all!
