Default What jig (and color) do you find to be the most productive (ALL SEASONS)?

I know there are many other factors invovled, but what do you 'fall back on' when other methods do not work? I often read 'this jig and that jig will catch Crappie all the time'. Where I fish, majority of the crappie fishermen use minnow (live bait) or red head tube with white legs. I, through massive reading on this site, have purchased other jigs/jig heads, only to be limited use by the many hot days of summer! I introduced Nibblers to my Dad (after I let him witness me catching a lot of fish :p ) and also Bobby Garland lures.

Until last Saturday (11/13) did I try something else ... Bleeding Shad and Crystal Shad - Bobby Garland with a little squirt of Liquid Minnow which I managed to catch a few. I strongly believe if I'd taken my fish finder with me, it would've at least given me a better chance.

How long do you continue to use your existing lure before change while fishing? What seems to work better in cold temps?

Just trying to obtain more knowledge. Don't worry, you won't have a problem telling others your secrets :p Heck, no one can catch em the way you do anyways.... LOL

Well, I longline so I start with 10 jigs off the back of my boat...but to pick a favorite that seems to work all year long I'd say blue/black/chart. tail, wildcat with chart tail, or blue with chart. tail. (Yea, yea...that's three different jig colors but I never pull jigs without those out there.) I'm referring to 2" curly tail grubs made by Southern Pro.

Any color as long as it has chartreuse in it.
