Notice I didn't say anything about the doggie life jacket. That was Kim's idea, not mine. Built in handle on the back also. :)

Hey FB, I have a hang over the side platform for Addie, when we duck hunt out of a boat but it don't look nothng like that. And Life Jacket? Hum MIght have to get her a camooflaged one! LOL NOT!

02-25-2006, 09:21 PM
Fatboy I bought one of those life jackets for a dog I had. Got rid of the dog before I ever had a chance to take him to the water. The jacket went in the trash. I would have give it to you if I knew you had a small dog.

fatboy it is a man that fishes the local lakes here that takes his dog every time he goes and has a life jacket on him all the time. I asked him why he had a life jacket on his dog he said he didn't now if the dog could swim. I an't never seen a dog that can't swim. Thair is one way to find out.

Friend of mine has a Golden Retriever. Can't swim a stroke. Has to tie her up when he goes out in his boat. She tries to follow and disappears when the water gets to deep.

My best friend always took his pup with him fishing. Coming to the ramp the dog was up front riding on the point of the front deck and when he pulled the throttle back the dog went over the bow into the lake and he ran over and killed his dog! I would keep them on a tie down when ever you are running to keep this from happening again!

A retriever that cant swim would be like a duck that couldnt fly. He must have had something wrong with him. I had a retriever that thought she was a boat. That dog was an amazing swimmer. Started to try and qualify her for the olympics. In all seriousness though, most dogs are natural swimmers.
