Default How while do you like your terrova?

I have a few questions for terrova owners? Im thinking about buying a minn kota terrova 55lb 48" shaft for my fishing boat. Minn kota doesnt make a 55lb I pilot model so I would like to buy an I-pilot upgrade for it. I read somewhere that I could buy a standard model and when I installed the I-pilot I would get the auto pilot features. I fish in a couple of stump, log, brush, mud and lilly pad filled lakes and creeks, so I was wondering how well the terrova would hold up to this type of environment? How well does the Stow/Deploy Lever work? My friend thinks there would be a delay when you push the pedal...is he right about this and if so do you notice it after using it awhile?

No delay, but you have to look at the motor head to know what direction it is pointing. With cable steers, most people can "feel" what direction the motor is in. The foot pedal is essentially a big remote control, it doesn't produce any feedback as to your steering position. The electric steer is a little slower than a cable steer, but there is no delay in responce.

That a little clearer for ya?

Thanks feelay!! That 55lb terrova shouldn't have any trouble move my 16ft lowe around the lake.

Should be plenty. You'll want to get the i-pilot as quick as you can, it is awesome. I hate the pedal.

Had one of um years ago when they first came out, never did like it. Way to slow about turning for my kind of fishing. Then the board in the pedal went out and it would only turn left.

You ever been trying to untangle a mess with your lines and look up and you have turned a 180 heading the other direction? Won't happen with the i-pilot.
