I have found fish on them in a week, location is the key when putting in brush piles. Cedar has been the best for us on Stockton.

I'd say depending on the area, you may find fish on it within an hour or two. If this fish and shad are moving, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't be there almost right away.

I have six steak buckets in the back yard and nothing in 5mo. check them every day

Beagle bring them 6 buckets up here and I will put them in a place that will put crappie in them for you. Just have to make sure you save one empty bucket to put in the boat to haul the crappie home with you after you catch them.
