    Default night fishing question.

I got everything ready to go for my first night fishing trip and wanted to ask a few questions that i hope someone has experience with. Is it harder to catch em in cold water during the winter or is it about the same? Does your light need to be lowered more since the water temp is colder torward the surface? and last, has anyone ever night fished small rivers under a bridge with any luck or is it better to fish a lake that doesnt have a current?

I've never fished a river so cannot answer that one. As the water cools and the fish bunch up it may be a bit harder getting on 'em but once you do they'll pretty much stay in that area until something changes. The fish are following the shad in the lakes here now so finding the bait is the key. It also helps if you hear some good fishing reports in certain areas of the lake to help you pinpoint a decent place to start. I always set my lights the same...about even with the bottom of my boat (a foot under the surface). That never changes for me. As I say...it may take a few trips to get on top of some good action so dont get discouraged quickly. Stay after 'em and you'll find 'em. Then the fight begins...

    As gabowman mentioned
1-2 foot below the ice is fine. Would recommend two holes

Still 88 here in Arizona, what's all that white stuff in that picture Bob,lol.Under bridges on the river would be an excellent place to fish.As long as the crappies are schooled up there.Like mentioned already, once you find them, you'll catch them.
