    Default Power inverters

Any of you night stalkers use power inverters for the lights above the water? I'm trying to decide if I should buy more 12 volt flouressant bulbs or buy a inverter? Thanks

Buy the invertor and then use energy saver bulbs.

Don't sink your money til you test the duration of the batteries driving the inverter. They suck batteries pretty quick. Cancel this if you're running them off of an alternator.

why would you want an inverter. no this is not a smart elec question, I just never thought you could out do 12vdc for night fishing, unless your gigging for suckers.

If you get an inverter, be sure to get a marine version equipped with GFI. Also, the inverters will shut down when the battery gets to 10.5v. Also they are only 90 percent efficient. I used them before.

I use an inverter to run my two 110v aerators for my minnows.....

But that's probably a lot less power draw than what you want to use the inverter for...
