    Flyrod man,

Yes i do. I learned from a great uncle how to fish with a flyrod and incorporate live bait. One method i use is a minow or redworm with #2 hook. Of course the poppers are always great for bluegill and bass. Got to be careful with live bait and i only do this one the fish are really on and don't require more than a cast or two for a good hook up.

I fly fish for bluegill and occasionally catch a crappie or two. I do a lot more flyfishing for trout though.

I flyfish for bream and bluegill, but I use a regular spinning reel with a fly under a float.

I built a St. Croix 7 wt 9' fly rod last year and use it for bass on my farm pond. I also have a 5 wt 9' fly rod I use for trout and blue-gill. I am going to use the fly-rods for crappie this year- either to roll-cast jigs under an indicator to shallow crappie or simply use them for a jigging rod by using a 8-9' mono leader and a 1/16 oz jig/grub. Both these rods have floating line. I think either one of these rods would be useful for crappie fishing the way I am planning, but I don't think I'll be able to effectively go much deeper that 10 feet or so jigging, due to the floating line. How do you use yours for crappie fishing?

Later in the season, we wander off to other piscatorial endeavors.
