Can catch them up until the point the lake freezes over. Winter can be one of the best times to catch crappie. They will stack up and you can catch some very fast limits once you find them.
How much longerthe closer we get to winter can you expect to catch crappie any where in the Show Me State.

as long as it doesn't freeze over and even then if you can get to them they are still hitting good, all winter long....... we have went many times when it is 15 degrees, line and rod tip freeze, but still fun as long as the wind isn't too bad.........
A FISH IN THE PAN IS WORTH TWO IN THE LAKE
I enjoy winter better than spring, very few nuts out there and cold is a state of mind. and insulated underwear
What they ^^^^^^^ say.

Yep all winter long, winter is a great time to fish. Most others will be at home while you are catching a lot of fish.
